Residencies

Organizations in Residence

Aligned with the Center's commitment to reinforcing essential tentpole organizations in LA’s cultural ecosystem, Effie House provides affordable residency space to two dynamic non-profits β€” LA Performance Practice and Level Ground.

LA Performance Practice is dedicated to producing contemporary performance that pushes the boundaries of multidisciplinary artistic practices. Fostering innovation in collaboration, technology, and social engagement, the organization provides multiple programs that serve LA artists.

Level Ground is committed to destabilizing oppressive social structures through art making, community building, and resource sharing. Founded in 2013, Level Ground is cooperatively-led artist collective and production incubator.

Individual Artists in Residence

We co-create residencies with artists, designing flexible structures tailored to their evolving needs. Through offerings such as free rehearsal space, in-kind housing for collaborators, strategic guidance from our co-founder Emily Wanserski, we equip artists with tools to take strategic steps in their careers. These residencies provide time, space, and tailored resources artists need to refine their craft and experiment. Current artists in residence include:
